...But Seriously is the fourth solo studio album by English singer-songwriter Phil Collins, released in the United States on November 17, 1989 by Atlantic Records. Produced by Collins and Hugh Padgham, the album was recorded at The Farm in Chiddingfold, England and at A&M Studios in Hollywood, California, and moves away from the dance-oriented sound of Collins' previous release, No Jacket Required, toward more socially conscious lyrical themes.
The album became one of the most successful of Collins' solo career, reaching number one in both the UK and the US. It includes the singles Another Day in Paradise, I Wish It Would Rain Down, Something Happened on the Way to Heaven, Do You Remember?, That's Just the Way It Is, and Hang in Long Enough. I Wish It Would Rain Down features a guitar solo from Eric Clapton, while the extended arrangement Colours runs nearly nine minutes and closes side one of the original vinyl release. Total running time is approximately 60 minutes.
