Return and Refund Policy
At Records Geek, we want you to shop with confidence. We stand behind the quality of our products and offer a straightforward 30-day return policy for most items.
Please note: Because media (CDs, DVDs, and video games) can be easily copied, we cannot accept returns on opened media unless the item is defective.
Two Types of Returns
1. Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Items
If your item arrives damaged, defective, or is not what you ordered, we’ll make it right:
- Full refund of the item price plus your original shipping cost
- You are responsible for return shipping costs
- Contact us at bill@recordsgeek.com with your order number and photos of the issue for fast resolution
2. Change of Mind (Buyer’s Remorse) – New & Sealed Items Only
For new, unopened items you simply changed your mind about:
- Must be returned in original, unopened, factory-sealed condition with all accessories and packaging intact
- Opened media (CDs, DVDs, video games) is not eligible for refund due to copyright and duplication concerns
- Apparel must be unworn, unwashed, and with all original tags attached
- You are responsible for return shipping costs
- A 20% restocking fee may apply to unauthorized returns or items returned in unacceptable condition
Certified Pre-Owned (Used) Media
All our Certified Pre-Owned discs are guaranteed to play. However, returns based solely on cosmetic wear (minor scratches, case wear, etc.) are not accepted. We professionally inspect, clean, and refurbish every used disc before shipping.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items are final sale and cannot be returned unless defective or mis-shipped:
- Opened media (CDs, DVDs, video games)
- Personalized or customized products
- Hygiene-related items
- Items from our Texas Collection (including Buc-ee’s, H.E.B., and licensed regional merchandise) due to manufacturer restrictions
How to Return an Item
- Email bill@recordsgeek.com with your order number and reason for return to receive a Return Authorization (RA#)
- Write the RA# clearly on the outside of the shipping box (do not write on the product packaging)
- Ship returns using a trackable service (USPS, UPS, or FedEx) and keep your receipt
- Refunds are processed within 3–5 business days after we receive and inspect the return
