Released on June 14, 1970, Workingman's Dead is the fourth studio album by the Grateful Dead. It marked a departure from their earlier psychedelic rock sound, instead featuring a more country-rock and folk rock inspired sound with themes relatable to the "everyman." Workingman's Dead was a critical and commercial success, lauded for its songwriting and musicianship. The album was ranked #264 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.
