Released on February 11, 1977, Jethro Tull's tenth studio album, "Songs From The Wood," marked a shift in their sound. This progressive rock band took a turn towards folk rock, incorporating traditional instruments and melodies alongside their signature electric guitars and drums. This album is the first of a folk rock trilogy by Jethro Tull, followed by "Heavy Horses" (1978) and "Stormwatch" (1979).
While commercial success wasn't quite as strong as some of their previous albums, "Songs From The Wood" gained critical acclaim and a dedicated following for its unique blend of rock and folk influences.
