Hereafter

Directed by Clint Eastwood and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Hereafter is a contemplative supernatural drama that weaves together three parallel stories of people touched by death. Matt Damon stars as George, a blue-collar American factory worker and reluctant psychic who views his ability to communicate with the dead as a "curse" rather than a gift. His life eventually intersects with Marie (Cécile de France), a French television journalist haunted by a near-death experience during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, and Marcus (played by twins Frankie and George McLaren), a London schoolboy desperately seeking answers after the tragic loss of his twin brother. Scripted by Peter Morgan, the film eschews traditional thriller tropes in favor of a slow-burn, character-driven exploration of grief and the possibility of an afterlife.
