    Saving Private Ryan is a 1998 war film directed by Steven Spielberg. The movie is set during World War II and follows a group of United States Army Rangers led by Captain John H. Miller (played by Tom Hanks). Their mission is to locate and bring home Private James Francis Ryan (played by Matt Damon), the last surviving brother of four soldiers who have been killed in action.
