"Edge of Darkness" is a 2010 thriller film directed by Martin Campbell and starring Mel Gibson. It is a remake of a 1985 British television series of the same name.

The movie tells the story of Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson), a veteran homicide detective in Boston, whose daughter Emma (Bojana Novakovic) is murdered in front of him. As Craven investigates her death, he discovers a web of corruption and conspiracy involving Emma's employer, a nuclear power plant, and a secret government agency.

As Craven delves deeper into the case, he becomes increasingly obsessed with uncovering the truth, even if it means putting himself in danger. With the help of Emma's friend and coworker, Darius Jedburgh (Ray Winstone), he uncovers a dark conspiracy that threatens to destroy not only his own life but also the safety of the entire city.

"Edge of Darkness" is known for its tense and suspenseful atmosphere, as well as its themes of political corruption and personal loss. The film was praised for Mel Gibson's performance as the determined and grieving father, as well as its compelling storyline and well-crafted action scenes.

Although the movie received mixed reviews from critics, it was a commercial success, grossing over $80 million worldwide. It remains a popular choice for fans of the thriller genre.
