Jungle is the definitive 1984 solo release from power-pop pioneer Dwight Twilley. Released on EMI America, the album represents Twilley's greatest commercial achievement, breaking into the Top 40 and spawning the Top 20 hit single "Girls." The album was produced by a team including Mark Smith and Noah Shark and was recorded at the legendary Sound City Studios.
A major highlight for collectors is the inclusion of Tom Petty on backing vocals for the lead single "Girls," alongside guitar work from Petty's Heartbreakers bandmate, Mike Campbell. The record also features guest vocals from Susan Cowsill and performances by top session musicians such as Alan Pasqua and Vinnie Colaiuta. Combining jangly melodies with a high-energy AOR production, Jungle is a quintessential piece of 1980s pop-rock history.
