Released in theaters on March 23, 2007, TMNT is a computer-animated superhero film based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. The film is directed by Kevin Munroe (directorial debut) and features the voice acting talents of James Arnold Taylor, Nolan North, and Mikey Kelley.
After defeating their arch-enemy the Shredder, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo – have grown apart. However, their master Splinter (voiced by Mako) worries about strange activity in New York City and must reunite the turtles to face a new threat.
This action-packed film featuring the heroes in a half-shell received mixed reviews but was a commercial success, grossing over $95 million worldwide against a budget of $34 million. While planned sequels were never released, TMNT remains a fun and visually-striking entry in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.
