The State is the second studio album by the Canadian rock band Nickelback, released on March 7, 2000. The album showcases the band's early post-grunge sound and features a mix of hard-hitting rock anthems and emotionally-driven ballads.
"The State" performed modestly on the Billboard charts. While it didn't achieve the same commercial success as some of their later albums, it laid the foundation for Nickelback's future success. The album peaked at number 130 on the Billboard 200 chart.
