The Allnighter is the second solo studio album by Glenn Frey, released in July 1984, by MCA Records. It is the follow-up to his debut album, No Fun Aloud, and marked a significant step in Frey's solo career. The album showcases Frey moving further away from the country-rock sound of the Eagles and exploring a more pop-oriented style, incorporating synthesizers and drum machines prevalent in the 1980s music scene.

The Allnighter became Frey's most successful solo album, reaching number 22 on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States. It spawned two top 20 singles: "Sexy Girl" and "Smuggler's Blues," the latter of which was prominently featured in an episode of the popular TV series Miami Vice, further boosting its popularity. The album was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), signifying sales of over 500,000 copies in the US.
