Fool's Gold is a romantic adventure-comedy film that was released in 2008. The movie stars Matthew McConaughey as Ben Finn Finnegan, a treasure hunter, and Kate Hudson as his ex-wife Tess, a deep-sea diver. The film was directed by Andy Tennant and features a supporting cast that includes Donald Sutherland, Alexis Dziena, and Ewen Bremner.

The plot of Fool's Gold revolves around Ben's obsession with finding a lost treasure, the Queen's Dowry, which sank off the coast of Florida in the 18th century. Ben has spent years searching for the treasure, but his obsession has put a strain on his relationship with Tess, who has grown tired of his constant pursuit of the elusive treasure.

When Tess divorces him and takes a job with a billionaire who wants to find the treasure, Ben realizes that he needs her expertise to succeed. The two rekindle their romance and set out on a dangerous adventure to find the treasure before their rival hunters get to it first.

Throughout the film, Ben and Tess encounter a series of obstacles, including dangerous sharks, rival treasure hunters, and a corrupt businessman who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the treasure. Along the way, they must also navigate their complicated relationship and learn to trust each other again.

Fool's Gold received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the chemistry between McConaughey and Hudson, while others criticized the film for its formulaic plot and lack of originality. Despite the mixed reception, the film was a commercial success, grossing over $111 million at the box office.
