The album "Enya" by Enya, her debut studio album, was originally released on February 9, 1987 by BBC Records in the UK and Atlantic Records in the US. It is considered the first album in her official discography as a solo artist, following her work with Clannad. While not initially a major commercial success, it gained more recognition upon its 1992 re-release as "The Celts" by WEA Records internationally and Reprise Records in the US. The re-released version reached number 10 on the UK Albums Chart and was certified Platinum in both the UK by the BPI and in the US by the RIAA, signifying sales of over one million units in each country. In Ireland, the album peaked at number 8. Two singles were released from the album: "I Want Tomorrow" and "The Celts," with "The Celts" reaching number 29 in the UK Singles Chart. The album also reached number 11 on the US Billboard Catalog Albums chart and number 14 on the US Billboard New Age Albums chart in 1992-1993. Worldwide sales for "Enya" (including "The Celts") are estimated at 4.5 million copies.
