"Dolphin Tale" is a 2011 family-friendly drama movie directed by Charles Martin Smith. The movie is inspired by true events and tells the story of a young boy named Sawyer Nelson, played by Nathan Gamble, who befriends a dolphin named Winter and helps her recover from a serious injury.

The story follows Sawyer, a lonely boy who is struggling to cope with his father's absence and his own social isolation. One day, he comes across a stranded dolphin on the beach and quickly bonds with her. The dolphin, later named Winter, has lost her tail due to a crab trap, and it becomes clear that she will not survive without assistance.

Sawyer's mother, played by Ashley Judd, takes him to the Clearwater Marine Hospital, where they meet Dr. Clay Haskett, played by Harry Connick Jr., who is determined to save Winter. Together, they work to find a solution to Winter's injury, and they eventually develop a prosthetic tail that allows Winter to swim again.

Throughout the movie, Sawyer and Winter's bond grows stronger, and Sawyer learns important life lessons about perseverance, courage, and friendship. The film also touches on themes of family, community, and the power of determination.
