Cry Macho

Cry Macho is a 2021 American western drama film directed by Clint Eastwood, who also stars in the film. The movie is based on a novel of the same name by N. Richard Nash.

The plot of the film follows a washed-up rodeo star and horse breeder named Mike Milo (played by Eastwood) who is hired by his former boss to travel to Mexico and retrieve his boss's son, Rafo (played by Eduardo Minett), who is living with his mother in a rural village. Rafo's mother has been neglectful, and the boss fears for his son's safety. Milo is initially hesitant to take the job, but he eventually agrees and embarks on a road trip with Rafo back to Texas.  

Along the way, Milo and Rafo encounter a number of challenges, including corrupt Mexican police, a group of bandits, and Milo's own personal demons. Through these challenges, Milo begins to bond with Rafo and learns to confront his own past mistakes and regrets.

The film received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising Eastwood's performance and the film's themes of redemption and second chances, while others found the plot predictable and clichéd. Nonetheless, the film remains a notable addition to Eastwood's body of work and to the western genre.
