Bandits is a 2001 crime comedy-drama directed by Barry Levinson, starring Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton as escaped convicts turned bank robbers, with Cate Blanchett as the bored housewife who becomes entangled in their partnership. After breaking out of an Oregon prison, the pair pull off a string of heists by taking bank managers hostage the night before each robbery, earning them the nickname the "Sleepover Bandits" and a growing public following.
Written by Harley Peyton, the film also stars Troy Garity and earned Thornton and Blanchett Golden Globe nominations for their performances. This Special Edition DVD from MGM Home Entertainment was released April 2, 2002, and includes an alternate ending, deleted scenes, and featurettes.
