The Charlie Daniels Band album Fire on the Mountain is the fifth studio album by Charlie Daniels and the second as the Charlie Daniels Band. It was released on November 29, 1974, by Kama Sutra Records. The album is a seminal piece of Southern rock, country rock, and blues rock, and is considered the band's quintessential album for its successful fusion of Southern-fried country with a rollicking, jam-intensive blues-rock style. It featured the band's signature hit songs, "The South's Gonna Do It" (released as a single in January 1975) and "Long Haired Country Boy" (released as a single in April 1975). The album peaked at number 38 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Fire on the Mountain was a commercial success and was certified Platinum by the RIAA on January 22, 1992, indicating shipments of over 1,000,000 units in the United States.
