Peso in My Pocket is the nineteenth and final studio album by the esteemed American country music icon Toby Keith. It was released on October 15, 2021, under the label Show Dog-Universal Music, marking Keith’s last musical offering before his passing in February 2024. Following a hiatus since his 2015 album "35 MPH Town," this release marked his return to the studio. The album's genesis traces back to the COVID-19 pandemic, during which Keith found inspiration while residing at his property in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Prompted by the urging of "radio honchos" for fresh material, Keith embarked on compiling new songs for the album.
One of the standout tracks, "Old School," serves as the lead single, co-written by country singer Maren Morris and her then-husband, Ryan Hurd. The album, although reaching number 25 on the US Billboard Top Country Albums chart, garnered praise for its genuine country essence and heartfelt narratives, a hallmark of Keith's illustrious career.
