Centerfield is the third solo studio album by John Fogerty, released on January 14, 1985, by Warner Bros. Records. It was his first album in nine years, following a lengthy break due to legal battles with his former record company. The album marked a successful comeback for Fogerty, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart and achieving double-platinum certification by the RIAA for sales exceeding two million copies in the United States.

The album features several hit singles, including "The Old Man Down the Road," which became Fogerty's only solo top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 10. The title track, "Centerfield," reached number 44 on the Hot 100 but has become a classic and is frequently played at baseball games. "Rock and Roll Girls" also performed well, reaching number 20 on the Hot 100.

Centerfield was a critical and commercial success, revitalizing Fogerty's career. The album showcased his signature blend of rock and roll, country, and blues, reminiscent of his work with Creedence Clearwater Revival. Fogerty played all the instruments on the album, highlighting his musical talent and vision.
