Red Octopus is the seventh studio album by the American rock band Jefferson Starship, released on June 13, 1975. It marked a significant transition for the band, both in terms of musical style and commercial success.

The album features a fusion of rock, pop, and elements of progressive and psychedelic rock. It includes some of Jefferson Starship's most recognizable hits, such as "Miracles," "Play on Love," and "Fast Buck Freddie." "Miracles" in particular became a major chart success and is considered one of the band's signature songs.

"Red Octopus" was a commercial breakthrough for Jefferson Starship, reaching the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart and staying there for four consecutive weeks. The album was also certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), indicating the sale of over two million copies in the United States.

The album's cover art features a painting of a red octopus by artist Craig Nelson, which has become one of the most iconic images associated with Jefferson Starship.
