Billy Joel's Songs in the Attic, released on September 14, 1981, is his first live album and features live versions of songs from his early career, including "Miami 2017 (Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway)" and "She's Got a Way". The album was critically acclaimed and commercially successful, selling over five million copies in the United States alone and being certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA. While not reaching the top of the Billboard charts, it did reach number eight and stayed on the chart for over a year.
