It Works for Me is the twenty-fifth and final solo studio album by Barbara Mandrell, originally released April 21, 1994 on Direct Records, a New York label that marketed the album exclusively through television campaigns rather than retail stores. Produced by Mandrell and Brent Rowan, the album mixes original songs with covers and marked her return to new studio material after leaving Capitol Records in 1991.
The album was reissued in 1997 through Razor & Tie, bringing it to retail for the first time, with the same 12-track listing as the original release. It stands as Mandrell's final studio album before she announced her retirement from touring and recording later that year.
