Sacred Treasures (Choral Masterworks From Russia) is a 1998 compilation released on Hearts Of Space Records, gathering choral performances of the Russian Orthodox Divine Liturgy from Russian and Bulgarian choirs. Compiled by Ellen Holmes, the collection draws primarily from Sergei Rachmaninoff's Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, Op. 31, performed by The Russian State Symphony Cappella under the direction of Valery Polyansky.
The album also includes settings by Tchaikovsky, Dimitri Bortniansky, and Grigory Lvovski, performed by ensembles including The Leningrad Glinka State Academic Choir, The USSR Ministry of Culture Chamber Choir, and the "Svetoslav Obretenov" Bulgarian National Choir. The collection opens and closes with recordings of Russian cathedral bells.
