5150 is the seventh studio album by American rock band Van Halen, released by Warner Bros. Records on March 24, 1986. Produced by Donn Landee, Mick Jones, and Van Halen, the album was recorded at 5150, guitarist Eddie Van Halen's home studio, and marked the band's first release with Sammy Hagar on lead vocals following the departure of original singer David Lee Roth.
5150 became the first Van Halen album to reach number one on the Billboard 200 and has been certified multi-platinum by the RIAA. The nine-track album includes the singles Why Can't This Be Love, Dreams, Love Walks In, and Best of Both Worlds, along with the title track and the extended closer Inside, showcasing the band's shift toward a more keyboard-driven sound alongside Eddie Van Halen's guitar work.
