Love Bomb is the seventh studio album by The Tubes, and their second to be produced by Todd Rundgren. Released under Capitol Records on February 25, 1985, "Love Bomb" marks the culmination of The Tubes' major-label releases. Despite the involvement of Rundgren and the band's creative energy, the album achieved modest success, reaching number 85 on the U.S. Pop Albums charts.
Following the release of 'Love Bomb,' the band faced internal struggles, leading to their breakup. Drummer Prairie Prince and keyboardist Vince Welnick subsequently joined Rundgren's touring band, indicating a continuation of musical collaboration beyond The Tubes. Notably, Rundgren recorded his own rendition of 'Feel It,' a track from 'Love Bomb,' for his 1989 album 'Nearly Human,' featuring both Prince and Welnick."
