The Sport of Kings is the eighth studio album by the Canadian rock band Triumph. It was released in August 1986 and recorded at their home studio of Metalworks Studios. "The Sport of Kings" represents a time of both creative experimentation and internal strife within the band. Notably, it marked the second-to-last studio album with guitarist and co-lead vocalist Rik Emmett. Despite the tensions brewing, "Somebody's Out There" emerged as a standout hit, climbing to number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 and securing a spot at number 84 in the Canadian pop charts, showcasing Triumph's enduring appeal.
"The Sport of Kings" received moderate commercial success, reaching number 33 on the Billboard 200 chart. Some of the notable tracks include "Somebody's Out There" and "Just One Night."
