The Thompson Twins' album "Close To The Bone" is their sixth studio album, released on April 6, 1987 by Arista Records. This marked a turning point for the band, as it was the first recorded by just Tom Bailey and Alannah Currie after Joe Leeway left the group. Despite strong songwriting, like on tracks "Savage Moon," "Gold Fever," and "Perfect Day," the album wasn't a commercial success compared to their previous work.
While it didn't achieve RIAA certification, "Close To The Bone" peaked at #76 on the Billboard US Top Pop Albums chart and has become a favorite among hardcore Thompson Twins fans who appreciate its artistic merit.
