The movie The Ultimate Gift, released on March 9, 2007, follows the journey of spoiled trust-fund heir Jason Stevens, played by Drew Fuller. Upon the death of his impossibly wealthy grandfather, Howard "Red" Stevens (James Garner), Jason expects a lavish inheritance. Instead, he is presented with a series of twelve challenging tasks, or "gifts," designed by his grandfather to teach him the true meaning of life, work, money, friendship, family, and love. Guided by his grandfather's friend and lawyer, Mr. Hamilton (Bill Cobbs), and Miss Hastings (Lee Meriwether), Jason embarks on a transformative adventure that takes him from forced labor on a ranch to a perilous journey in a third-world country. Along the way, he encounters a spirited young girl named Emily (Abigail Breslin), battling leukemia, and her mother, Alexia (Ali Hillis), who profoundly impact his perspective. The film was directed by Michael O. Sajbel and produced by Rick Eldridge and Jim Van Eerden. It grossed approximately $3.4 million at the box office.
