The Twilight Saga: New Moon is the second installment in the Twilight film series, based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. Released in 2009 and directed by Chris Weitz, the movie continues the romantic fantasy saga of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).
The story begins with Bella celebrating her 18th birthday, but the festivities take a dark turn when she gets a paper cut, prompting Jasper Cullen (Jackson Rathbone) to lose control and attack her. In order to protect Bella from the dangers of vampire life, Edward decides to leave her, believing it's in her best interest.
Heartbroken and devastated by Edward's departure, Bella falls into a deep depression. She finds solace in her friendship with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), who is revealed to be a werewolf. As Bella and Jacob spend more time together, a love triangle develops, and Bella discovers the existence of the Quileute werewolf pack and their ancient rivalry with vampires.
