The Heartbreak Kid is a romantic comedy film directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly, released in 2007. The movie is a remake of the 1972 film of the same name, which was based on a short story by Bruce Jay Friedman. The 2007 version stars Ben Stiller as the protagonist, Eddie Cantrow.
The story revolves around Eddie, a single and commitment-phobic man who impulsively decides to marry a seemingly perfect woman, Lila, played by Malin Åkerman, after a brief courtship. They embark on their honeymoon in Mexico, where Eddie quickly discovers Lila's quirks and flaws, leading to a series of comedic and awkward situations.
During his honeymoon, Eddie meets another woman, Miranda, portrayed by Michelle Monaghan, who he starts to develop feelings for. As the story unfolds, Eddie finds himself torn between his new bride and the woman he has just met.
