The supernatural horror film The Haunting in Connecticut is based on the allegedly true story of the Snedeker family. The movie follows the Campbell family as they relocate to a Victorian house in Connecticut to be closer to their son's cancer treatment. They soon discover that the home was once a funeral parlor and is infested with malevolent supernatural entities, forcing the family into a terrifying struggle for survival. The film was directed by Peter Cornwell and produced by Paul Brooks, Andrew Trapani, Daniel Farrands, and Wendy Rhoads. Major actors and actresses include Virginia Madsen, Kyle Gallner, Martin Donovan, Amanda Crew, and Elias Koteas. It was released in the United States on March 27, 2009. The film, produced on a budget of $10 million, grossed approximately $78.8 million worldwide at the box office.
