The Haunting in Connecticut is a supernatural horror film that was released in 2009. Directed by Peter Cornwell, the movie is loosely based on the allegedly true events surrounding the Snedeker family and their experiences in a former funeral home in Southington, Connecticut, during the 1980s.
The story follows the Campbell family, particularly focusing on their son, Matt (played by Kyle Gallner), who is undergoing cancer treatment. In an effort to be closer to the hospital where Matt is receiving treatment, the family decides to move into a rental property. Unbeknownst to them, the house was formerly a funeral home and has a dark history of necromancy and paranormal activities.
As the family settles into their new home, they begin to experience disturbing and terrifying supernatural occurrences. Matt, who is undergoing intensive medical treatment, becomes especially susceptible to the malevolent forces within the house. The family seeks the help of a local paranormal investigator, played by Elias Koteas, to unravel the mysteries surrounding their haunted dwelling.
