The Dead and the Damned is a horror film that combines elements of science fiction and Western genres. Released in 2011, the movie is directed by Rene Perez and centers around a meteor that crashes in Jamestown, California, during the Gold Rush of 1849.
As miners stumble upon the meteor, they unknowingly release its spores into the environment. These spores have a terrifying effect on the population, transforming them into bloodthirsty mutants.
