The Big Bang Theory is an American sitcom television series created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady. The Complete First Season consists of 17 episodes that originally aired from September 24, 2007, to May 19, 2008.
The show revolves around the lives of four socially awkward scientists and their interactions with each other and the people around them. The main characters are Leonard Hofstadter (played by Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (played by Jim Parsons), who are roommates and brilliant physicists working at Caltech. They meet their new neighbor, Penny (played by Kaley Cuoco), an aspiring actress who works as a waitress.
Throughout the season, the dynamic between the nerdy scientists and the outgoing Penny forms the basis of many humorous and awkward situations. Leonard develops a romantic interest in Penny, while Sheldon's peculiar behavior and lack of social skills lead to comedic misunderstandings. The show also features their friends Howard Wolowitz (played by Simon Helberg) and Rajesh Koothrappali (played by Kunal Nayyar), who add to the comedic elements.
