Super Buddies is a 2013 family comedy film and the sixth installment in the "Air Bud" film series, which began with the popular movie "Air Bud" released in 1997. The series follows the adventures of Buddy, a talented Golden Retriever with various athletic abilities, and his various human companions.
In "Super Buddies," Buddy's offspring, a litter of talking Golden Retriever puppies, discover magical rings that grant them superpowers. Each puppy gains a different superpower based on their personalities. The puppies include:
- Budderball: The largest and most food-loving of the puppies, who gains super strength.
- B-Dawg: The hip-hop-loving puppy who gains the power of super speed.
- RoseBud: The adventurous and brave puppy who gains the ability to turn invisible.
- MudBud: The easygoing and fun-loving puppy who gains the power of elasticity.
- Buddha: The wise and knowledgeable puppy who gains the power of telekinesis.
As the puppies discover their newfound powers, they embark on a series of adventures while trying to keep their abilities a secret from their owners and the rest of the world. However, their adventures take a serious turn when they inadvertently release a malevolent ancient being called "Pip," who aims to use the magical rings for his own evil purposes.
