Run Lola Run, or Lola rennt as it's known in German, is a 1998 German experimental thriller film written and directed by Tom Tykwer. The movie centers on Lola (played by Franka Potente), who has twenty minutes to find 100,000 Deutsche Mark to save her boyfriend Manni (Moritz Bleibtreu) from a mob boss. The film explores themes of chance, determinism, and the butterfly effect through three alternative scenarios that unfold in quick succession, each stemming from a minor alteration in Lola's frantic dash through Berlin. The rapid pacing, energetic techno soundtrack, and stylistic choices like animation and flash-forwards define its unique cinematic experience.

The film was released in Germany on June 18, 1999, and in the United States by Sony Pictures Classics on March 19, 1999. Major actors include Franka Potente as Lola, Moritz Bleibtreu as Manni, and Herbert Knaup as Lola's father. Stefan Arndt produced the film. Run Lola Run was a notable box office success for a foreign language indie film, grossing over $7 million domestically and more than $22 million worldwide on a budget of approximately $1.7 million.
