Racing Stripes, released on January 14, 2005, is a family sports comedy film about a zebra named Stripes who dreams of becoming a racehorse. Accidentally left behind by a traveling circus in Kentucky, he is raised on a farm next to a racetrack and believes he is destined to race. The movie combines live-action with computer animation, featuring the voices of Frankie Muniz as Stripes, Dustin Hoffman as Tucker, Whoopi Goldberg as Franny, Mandy Moore as Sandy, Steve Harvey as Buzz, David Spade as Scuzz, Snoop Dogg as Lightning, and Jeff Foxworthy as Reggie. The live-action cast includes Hayden Panettiere as Channing Walsh and Bruce Greenwood as Nolan Walsh. It was directed by Frederik Du Chau and produced by Andrew A. Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Lloyd Phillips, and Edward L. McDonnell. Racing Stripes grossed approximately $90 million worldwide at the box office.
