The animated comedy adventure film Puss in Boots is a prequel spin-off in the Shrek franchise that details the title character's adventures before he met Shrek. Puss in Boots, voiced by Antonio Banderas, teams up with the mastermind Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and the suave cat burglar Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek) to steal the magical Goose that lays the Golden Eggs from the infamous outlaws Jack and Jill (Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris). The movie was directed by Chris Miller and produced by Joe M. Aguilar and Latifa Ouaou. It was released in the United States on October 28, 2011. With a production budget of $130 million, the film was a commercial success, gross grossing $555 million worldwide at the box office.
