Pink Floyd's A Collection of Great Dance Songs, released on November 23, 1981, is a compilation album featuring reworked tracks from their discography post-1973, leaning towards a more dance-oriented sound.  While not originally intended as a full-fledged studio album, it achieved commercial success, reaching number 37 on the UK Albums Chart and number 31 on the Billboard 200. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on January 29, 1982, and later went Platinum on July 6, 1989, reaching Double Platinum in August 2001. While not featuring entirely new songs, the album offered a fresh take on some of Pink Floyd's greatest hits, including "Another Brick in the Wall (Part II)" and "Money."
