The World from the Side of the Moon is the debut studio album by Phillip Phillips, released November 19, 2012 following his win on the eleventh season of American Idol. Produced primarily by Drew Pearson and Gregg Wattenberg, the album leans into Phillips' soulful, roots-influenced pop-rock style, drawing comparisons to Dave Matthews and Mumford & Sons.
The album includes "Home," Phillips' coronation single, which topped the Adult Contemporary chart and was certified quadruple-platinum, along with "Gone, Gone, Gone" and "Where We Came From." Phillips co-wrote much of the album himself, and it went on to be certified platinum by the RIAA.
