Peter Frampton's Frampton Comes Alive!, is a double live album released on January 15, 1976, It captured Frampton's electrifying live performances and turned into a massive commercial success, becoming one of the best-selling live albums of all time.
This wasn't just a concert recording, it was a career launcher. Frampton had already released four studio albums that didn't quite hit the mark, but Frampton Comes Alive! catapulted him to stardom. The album spent a whopping 10 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and was the best-selling album of 1976. It received "Album of the Year" honors in a 1976 Rolling Stone readers' poll, and went on to sell over 8 million copies in the US alone. That's RIAA certified 8x platinum!
