New Super Mario Bros. is a 2006 platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. It was first released in North America on May 15, 2006, followed by Japan on May 25, 2006, Australia on June 8, 2006, and PAL regions in June 2006. An updated version, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, was later released for the Nintendo Switch on January 11, 2019. The original Nintendo DS title sold over 30 million units worldwide, making it one of the best-selling games on the platform. The Nintendo Switch version, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, has also performed strongly, with 17.2 million units sold as of December 31, 2023.
