NCIS is an American police procedural television series that premiered on CBS in 2003. The fifth season of the show consists of 19 episodes and originally aired from September 2007 to May 2008.
The series follows a team of special agents who work for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), a federal agency that investigates crimes involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The team is led by Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), a former Marine Gunnery Sergeant who is known for his tough and no-nonsense approach to solving cases.
Throughout the fifth season, the NCIS team investigates a wide range of cases, including murder, espionage, and terrorism. The team members, including Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), a former Baltimore homicide detective; forensic specialist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette); and medical examiner Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum), work together to solve each case using their unique skills and expertise.
The season also explores the personal lives of the NCIS team members, including Gibbs' relationship with his father, Tony's ongoing flirtation with agent Jeanne Benoit (Scottie Thompson), and the return of Ziva David (Cote de Pablo)'s estranged father.
The fifth season of "NCIS" features a number of high-profile guest stars, including Bob Newhart, Colin Hanks, and Rena Sofer.
