The MCA Years: A Retrospective is a compilation album by American singer-songwriter Nanci Griffith, released in 1993 by MCA Records. The eighteen-track collection draws on Griffith's four-year, five-album tenure with the label's Nashville division, spanning studio recordings alongside live tracks captured during that era.
The compilation leans heavily on Griffith's 1987 album Lone Star State of Mind, represented by Trouble in the Fields, From a Distance, Ford Econoline, and a re-recording of the title track from her 1978 debut, There's a Light Beyond These Woods (Mary Margaret). It also draws extensively from her 1989 breakthrough Storms, including Listen to the Radio, I Don't Wanna Talk About Love, and the international hit It's a Hard Life Wherever You Go, along with selections from her final MCA release, Late Night Grande Hotel, produced by former Zombies keyboardist Rod Argent.
