Gilley's Greatest Hits Vol. 1 is a compilation album by American country artist Mickey Gilley and was initially released on the Playboy Records Inc label in 1976.
The album features some of Gilley's most successful recordings from the 1970s, including "City Lights," "Don't the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time," and "Room Full of Roses." These songs helped establish Gilley as one of the leading voices in country music during the era.
Although "Gilley's Greatest Hits Vol. 1" was released on a relatively obscure label, it was a commercial success, reaching #5 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and #47 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album's success helped Gilley gain wider recognition and paved the way for his future success as a country music artist.
It's worth noting that the album was reissued on the Epic Records label in 1980 with a slightly different track listing. The 1980 version of the album included all of the original tracks from the Playboy Records release, as well as a few additional songs.
