An Americana Primer: Vol. 2 continues Lost Immigrants' exploration of the Americana music landscape. "Volume 2" finds the band back at it's roots with songs that celebrate the history and legacy of classic country and bluegrass styles. "Nothing Left to Lose" and "Great Big Wheel" tell stories of loves lost against a driving train beat. "You Can't Kill George Jones" honors the memory of the recently deceased Nashville music legend. Fantasy and reality mix to dire consequences in "Jean Harlow." In "Black Blizzard," Texas singer/songwriter Darryl Lee Rush lends his voice to a harrowing tune about the Great Depression and the American Dust Bowl-era. The EP closes with "Don't Take Your Eyes off Today," a reminder staying in the moment and focusing on what really matters. A highlight of the EP is the way Lost Immigrants incorporates so many unique Americana music instruments into their already unique sound. Slide dobro, banjo, mandolin and honky-tonk piano weave their way through the songs. The best example of this musical interplay is in "Gospel Medley," an old-school, back porch gospel tune reminiscent of the Bill Gaither Family Band and the Southern Gospel groups of previous generations.
