Krokus' eighth studio album, The Blitz, released in August 1984, solidified their hard rock sound. Blending traditional heavy metal with arena rock anthems, the album became a fan favorite. Tracks like "Midnite Maniac," "Our Love," and "Ballroom Blitz" remain some of their most popular songs. "Midnite Maniac" received significant airplay, propelling the album's success. The Blitz achieved moderate Billboard success, peaking at number 36 on the Billboard 200 chart, one of their highest rankings. It also spawned a charting single, "Midnite Maniac," which reached number 71 on the Billboard Hot 100. Sales-wise, The Blitz achieved gold certification in the US, signifying over 500,000 copies sold.
