Dynasty is the seventh studio album by the American rock band Kiss, released on May 23, 1979. It marked a significant shift in the band's musical style, incorporating elements of disco and pop-rock into their hard rock sound. The album features a mix of catchy, radio-friendly tracks and hard-hitting rock anthems.

The most notable song from "Dynasty" is "I Was Made for Lovin' You," which became a major hit for Kiss. It showcased their new disco-influenced sound and reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 11. The song's success helped introduce Kiss to a wider audience and solidify their commercial viability.

"Dynasty" is notable for featuring lead vocals from all four members of the band, with guitarist Ace Frehley taking lead on "Hard Times" and bassist Gene Simmons providing vocals for "Dirty Livin'."

"Dynasty" achieved commercial success. It reached number 9 on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming the first Kiss album to break into the top 10 since "Destroyer" in 1976. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), indicating sales of over one million copies in the United States.
