Stolen Moments marks singer-songwriter John Hiatt's tenth studio album, released in June 1990. This album marked a significant moment in Hiatt's career as it became his highest charting solo album at the time, peaking at No. 61 on the US Billboard charts.

The album features standout tracks like "Through Your Hands," later covered by artists including Joan Baez on her 1992 album "Play Me Backwards," and David Crosby on his 1993 record "Thousand Roads." Don Henley's rendition of "Through Your Hands" reached No. 33 on the US Billboard charts and was featured in the film "Michael." Additionally, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band covered "The Rest of the Dream" on their 1990 album of the same title, while Ilse DeLange recorded "Child of the Wild Blue Yonder" for her live album "Dear John."

Interestingly, one of the songs, "Bring Back Your Love to Me," had been previously recorded by Earl Thomas Conley, becoming a country hit when it was released as a single in February 1990, reaching No. 11 on both the US and Canadian country charts, months before Hiatt's version was included in "Stolen Moments."
