John Entwistle's Ox's debut album, Mad Dog, was released in February 1975. It marked Entwistle's fourth solo studio album and his last for six years. Despite its connection to the Who's 1974 hotel wrecking spree in Montreal, Mad Dog failed to garner significant interest or sales. Often described as "the son of Rigor Mortis", the album was overshadowed by Entwistle's later solo work, such as Too Late the Hero (1981) and The Rock (1996). The song "Cell Number 7," a reflection on the Who's Canadian legal troubles, stands out as a notable track on the album.
