"Passin' Thru" is the James Gang's fifth studio album, released in October 1972, and their final album on ABC Records. The album marks the departure of guitarist Domenic Troiano, who was replaced by Tommy Bolin.
The album reached number 72 on the US Billboard 200.
The album cover features a scene from the 100 block of East Main Avenue in Bismarck, North Dakota, circa 1880s. The large building in the background is still standing today.
